World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Upgrades to items are a method to increase the stats of an item. Based on the type of upgrade, it may boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity, as well as boost other stats.

Each item comes with a track for upgrading it. Each upgrade increases the cost of the next item by a specified amount.

Item Level

When an item gets upgraded, its stats are increased in value. This value is the sum of the perks that are leveled up (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrades can be expensive depending on the person you hire and what you do. This is due to the fact that many perks need to be replaced to allow the item to be upgraded.

Item level is a commonly used measurement of power and is visible on all item tooltips. It also serves to limit how much PvP gear players can use as PvP is restricted at a lower level. Players can see their average level of items on their character sheet.

Utilizing the level of an item will allow players to compare the strength of equipment when choosing to buy or sell. It's an indicator of the item's damage and quality. The level of an item can be used to evaluate items when evaluating a vendor's inventory.

On PC, you are able to view the item level by pressing ALT or using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. This will display the item's full description, including the ilvl. You can also find it by hovering over an item upgrading and typing /itemlevel into chat.

There are various theories about how the calculation of the item's level is made. One theory says that the level of an item is calculated by formulas that determine the value of an item's stats actually are. It takes into consideration the fact that different perks have different values, and also that sockets have gems that increase the item's overall value. This process could result in a calculated amount for the item's ilvl, which is usually close to Blizzard's real item level.

This isn't the only factor that influences the level of an item. The level of the area where the item was dropped can alter its stats. For instance, it could increase the item's haste or crit score. Items dropped in higher-level instances will have higher ilvl.

Item Stats

Stats on an item are a significant component of what determines the value of an item for players. The game makes use of them in various ways to encourage players not to limit themselves to one weapon and to encourage them to try out other weapons. The base stats of a weapon are boosted by the weapon's stat mods that are in turn increased by the player's skill.

Upgrades to an item can boost its stats. The costs for upgrades are determined by the rarity of the item. For instance, a gray or white item can only be upgraded once, whereas an item with the rare tiers can be upgraded many times with higher prices.

Another method of altering the stats on an item is through affixes. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player, and they come in all shapes and sizes. Affixes can do things like give the item upgrader mod extra damage, or give a specific capability to the item (such as reviving the dead or decreasing the cooldowns), or make the item unique by adding an exclusive name to the item.

All affixes are re-rolled at the moment by selecting them in the upgrade menu and pressing the green button. This will cost a certain amount in gold and other items. These can be used as upgrade gauges similar to other rerolling methods.

Players can choose to upgrade an item by a specific stat or reroll attaches. The possible stat ranges for an item are based on the level of the item, however all items are guaranteed to have at minimum one stat within the range, unless it is a unique item or the result of a God roll from a boss in a raid.

Another thing that could be changed is the possibility of upgrading equipment without having to reroll attaches, or select which stats to enhance. However, as with the base equipment, this would have to be carried out on a per-item level, and the item compare interface would not display all the possible stats gained or lost at once.

Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player increases the likelihood of locating items and the properties that are created by loot and the strength of these properties. It doesn't, however directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It merely gives players the possibility to obtain better equipment in earlier waves, and [Redirect Only] is therefore more beneficial in early game runs as opposed to later ones, as most players prioritize greater weapon scaling and defense over raw damage gains.

Luck can also increase the likelihood of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This isn't to be confused with the Blacksmith's overall chances of upgrading that increase with each new level of item. It is also possible to be increased with the use of anti-materials, such as the Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.

Armor, shields, and weapons have an initial Luck value of 40. These items can be enhanced with golden ingots, spined leather or oak boards (depending on the item upgrader kit's material type) to give +40 Luck, or to increase the Luck of an item, up to 140.

Furthermore, certain items, like the Hollow weapon, which is infused with Hollow can be used to increase the damage of any damage-dealing skill by 5percent. These items can be bought at the store, or they can be constructed using the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Not all upgrades work. However, there are some cash shop items which allow players to increase their chances of success or even prevent themselves from losing an item if the upgrade is unsuccessful.

When you upgrade an item, the success rate is shown in the Honing UI. The percentage is the chances of successfully upgrading that item, and can be increased by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. The chance of success can only be increased as much, and the likelihood that the upgrade will fail cannot exceed 100%..

The success of an upgrade is also affected by the luck of that item. All items have an initial success rate of 25% and every item with Luck increases the chance of success by 5percent.

It is important to note that upgrade Item items are rendered above the items in the inventory, [Redirect Only] so enchantment glint and other effects could be obscured by the overlays. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
