The Best Robot Hoover

robot-vacuum-mops-logo-text-black-png-original.jpgThe best robot vacuum robot hoover can clean and mop without requiring your attention, and leaves your floors spotless. Its low cost and top-of-the-line functions (such as a dirt detector) are a plus.

Check your robot's brushes frequently for tangled debris and hair. Clean them as needed. Some models can also self-empty the onboard dust bin and place it in a larger bin at the bottom. This can reduce the amount of fine dust that gets released into the air.

1. Roomba Q5 pro

The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive counterpart, the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums we've tested. They have top-of-the-line motors that can pull up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. Like other iRobots with premium features (including the most powerful model), they use smart mapping to produce precise floorplans that avoid obstacles such as cords and furniture leg. The robots also feature Carpet Boost, a feature that boosts its power when it senses dirt on the carpet.

Both the Q5 and Q7 Max Series get very excellent scores in our floor tests that test for bare floors, and they're particularly adept in removing pet hair. However, they do have several flaws that prevent them from being our top choice. One of the flaws of the Q5 is its navigation system doesn't have AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's also prone to become stuck on socks and shoes and could not navigate through rooms with a lot of people well in our tests. It also doesn't come with an image sensor that lets it see the corners of a room.

Still, it's very good to consider, particularly if you're looking to save money on an iRobot Roomba and you have a bare-floored home or office. It's also extremely quiet and works when you're at work or in school. The only thing it's missing that you won't find in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming of floors with no floor. It's also less effective at mopping, relying on disposable wet wipes that don't hold on well and aren't able to handle dried-on debris. The Q5 comes with a self-emptying cradle that can be emptied by itself. If you need to, the mopping pad can be changed for an awe-inspiring one in a matter of minutes.

2. iRobot Roomba

The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact elegant vacuum cleaner that can also mop floors. Its quick navigation and smart cleaning maps make it quick to clean and efficient at tackling larger particles like pet hair. It also features strong suction and a self-emptying bin. It's the most efficient robot hoover for carpets, although it's not as effective as some rivals in deep cleaning.

This high-performance vacuum and mops utilizes sensor technology that can stay clear of obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the structure of your home over time and offer better cleaning. The app lets you modify zones and alter the cleaning schedule. It comes with a battery life that is comparable to other models.

If the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted space, you can tell it to take off and extend its mop. This can help avoid cross-contamination. Its flex arm is also great to get under furniture with low levels and along baseboards. However, it doesn't have the same level of washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Pro+ as well as the iRobot Combo j9+.

During tests, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop that could complete an entire home, and it did so with only 66 percent of its battery left. It did a great cleaning job on a variety of rooms and floors with various flooring types including some area rugs. Its obstacle detection was excellent and it stayed clear of fake dog turds, socks, shoes and bundles cables.

It's more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, but it has superior suction, an onboard dustbin that automatically emptys into its base, and also supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can clean the floor even after it vacuums. This is a feature we haven't seen in other robot vacuum cleaners reviews vacuum/mop combination.

3. IRobot Roomba X40

The robot vacuum and mop combination is sleek and has a circular design that looks much like a Roomba model than the boxy units of the rivals. It's among our most attractive robot vacuums. The latest flagship model from iRobot is also the most intelligent. It has advanced features such as enhanced dirt detection and future compatibility (another company's robot that can wash mop pads on its own).

It's the only robotic mop or vacuum that has a perfect 10 in our evaluations thanks to a blend of high-tech sensors that include cameras, a structured lighting system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation on its own. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa as well as self-cleaning mops.

The X40 as with other iRobot products, is simple to use. It has an easy mobile app interface that integrates with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only issue is that the X40 is still a loud unit. This could be a concern in the mornings prior to work or at night when you are trying to fall asleep.

It's also quite expensive however, not as much as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or Roborock S8 Omni, which are both equally impressive and attractive. If you're willing with a bit more noise and some extra cost it's a powerful two-in-one that will satisfy most people.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop, with many advanced features to help you forget about your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning machine that is similar to Ecovacs' top-of-the-range X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It comes with a multi-function dock that will automatically empty the vacuum's bin and refills the water tank, as well as washes and dry the mop pads.

The smart robot utilizes LIDAR and structured lighting to map out floor plans and spot obstacles. It navigates more intelligently than its premium competitors. It also has a camera mounted on the front for real-time detection of hazards however, it wasn't foolproof in our testing and was sometimes confused by power cords or other obstructions.

The vacuum cleaner has the capacity to suction up to 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to complete the task. It also comes with "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates the intensity at which the vacuum works and also alters the frequency of cleaning for various areas of the house according to the degree of dirt they tend to be.

For larger homes it's worth looking for a model with spot or zone cleaning modes that allow you to tell the robot to clean one particular area of your home by using the app or via voice commands. If you have lots of furniture, a stair-mode is also useful. Finally, a recharge and resume feature that lets your robot vacuum cleaner vacuum pick up right where it left off is ideal for busy families.

5. iRobot Roomba RX3

The RX3 is more intelligent than its price would suggest. It's a pro at cleaning, removing 55% of the debris we found in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops with one pad that has a reciprocating motion, which does a better job cleaning than the other mop cleaners for robots we've examined. It's also self-sufficient, with a fully-featured app as well as a self-emptying, washable base.

The well-designed iRobot app will guide you through an initial mapping run that gathers information about your floorplan and any "no-go" areas you have marked on the map. You can use it to make cleaning schedules, set up a spot clean or to prioritize your most filthy rooms to improve performance. The app also gives access to many features like seasonal suggestions, custom maps, and advanced settings for your cleaning.

Its shape is more rectangular than most other robot vacuums, which means it can get to corners and under furniture more easily. It features a powerful 8,000 Pascal suction, as well as sophisticated combs that remove pet hair. It also has the ability to create a spot-clean that intensely cleans a localized area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a sleeker and less expensive alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It has a more attractive design, akin to Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are designed to resemble cute eyes. It is capable of vacuuming but is more prone to be caught by low thresholds and is a bit louder than the other top robotic vacuums we've tried. It also has a less user-friendly app and a tiny base station that doesn't double as a bin for emptying.
