WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give you boost in certain stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of the item by +3. Each upgrade also increases an unspecified substat.

The upgraded gear typically has a more value in trade regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or very high stat variation (like eth titan weapons). Upgrades are not as important for the latter due to the need to roll a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrading upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by giving the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of weapon or armor. However, the item used for the upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and can't be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create the enchantments.

You can upgrade your gear anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended to visit the upgrader at least once every few weeks to ensure that your equipment is up-to-date.

Upgrades will cost more, based on the level of the item, however, they are always cheaper than buying new equipment. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest to ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. Buying a similar item will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items which can be used to level up weapons tools, armor, and other accessories. Players can purchase them from NPCs of Item level Upgrade upgraders for various currencies. They can also find them in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be used on any weapon, tool, or armor. button, which displays an item's preview at its next upgrade level in the event that the player has enough materials.

The cost of upgrades varies based on the slot of the item and the current level of the item as well as the level of the weapon, which is more than gloves or bracers for instance. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones and a number of crests, with some upgrades having a discount to lower the cost of Flightstones or the crests used. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain amount it can be re-downgraded and sold to the upgrader for a lower price.

A lot of locations offer upgraders for items, including the main Island and some outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade discount as well as a chance to acquire a new upgrade recipe. In Season 3 the upgrade system was tweaked a bit, with several new features added. Once a player obtains an upgrade to a specific item level for a particular armor slot, upgrading additional items to the same level will cost less even if they are part of another set of gear.

The amount of Valorstones required to upgrade is reduced and the discount is account-wide. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed to upgrade is reduced as well, but is only available when certain milestones have been reached.

Crests

Players have a number of options when it comes to upgrading their equipment in WoW. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more specialized and are used for specific item upgrader kit level upgrades. Crests are a key element of the Dragonflight gear progression system, which was introduced in 10.1, and come in four ranks.

The first thing to remember is that crests are only available for equipment that is of a certain rank. Each rank has an upgrade items path that is different. The simplest and simplest upgrade is 15 crests. The most complex upgrade could require as much as 20 crests, contingent on the type of gear that is being upgraded.

Another notable modification is that crests have one purpose, so it's important to use them wisely. For instance it's Best item upgrade to use all of your Whelpling-rank crests with the Best item upgrader equipment available and save Drake and Wyrm crests for the next round of upgrades you plan on making. This is especially true for items like rings and trinkets that fill multiple slots on the character, which will only be able to avail the discount for all accounts when all slots are full of high-quality gear.
