World of Warcraft Upgrades

Upgrades are the components that can be placed inside equipment to offer various bonus effects. They can range from stat boosts to increased proc chances of amazing effects on the equipment.

The upgrade system for items works differently than you might be used to from other MMORPGs. This guide will provide the basics and provide some tricks and tips.

Rerolling

A player can upgrade items such as trinkets, armor, and weapons up to level 9 by visiting an upgrader NPC. These NPCs are accessible through a map search or talking to a merchant. Upgrade components can be added to these items to grant an attribute bonus and additional effects while using the equipment.

Upgrades that have been inserted in can be replaced, but they are not able to be removed until the item has been destroyed or recovered using a Black Lion Salvage Kit (or higher-tier item recovery tools). Glyphs that are placed in gathering tools can be removed and replaced at will.

A player can buy up to six upgrade components at one time by recycling other equipment. Recycled objects will give a certain number of levels to the gauge for upgrading an item Upgrader kit and will increase as the gear is valued more.
