Path of Exile Item Upgrades

Item upgrades are a common and essential way to boost the performance of many items in Path of Exile. They can provide extra damage, AD or even affixes.

Rare-grade equipment is often superior to modernized Common or Magic equipment due to their high demands.

Armor

Armor upgrades can be applied to both weapon and armor items. They improve the stats of whatever item they are connected to. Upgrades to armor can be found in the world of the game and purchased from Blacksmiths on bonfires. They can also be salvaged by using an expert or higher salvage kits to retrieve upgrade components from other items.

The amount of damage that an armored item or weapon will absorb is contingent on the level of its upgrades. The absorption of damage by an armor piece will increase when it is upgraded to its maximum upgrade level. It is important to note that this will increase the weight of the armor, which means it should be heavier.

There are a few different types of armor upgrades available in the game and they all have distinct effects. Certain upgrades grant armor an extra amount of health points while others make it lighter and more powerful. The name of the upgrade will indicate the kind of upgrade an item upgrading can receive, as shown below.

A few upgrades are magic or a hybrid of technology and magic, which is identified by the "Magic" or "Hybrid" entry in the table below. Additionally, some upgrades require a fee to use, which are indicated by the "Charges" entry in the table below. The charges for these upgrades are updated daily or never expire according to the upgrade.

Iron Ore is the cheapest option to upgrade your armor. You can find it by exploring and looting small treasure chests. Titanium is more expensive however, it is available at the smelters of Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Some upgrades, such as the Reforge and the Hot Potato Books, can only be applied to higher level armor pieces. These upgrades can provide significant improvement in performance and are worth the investment, especially for 1-handed weapons.

Upgrading a piece of armor to max upgrade level will greatly increase its defense capabilities, but the player should be aware that increasing its weight will dramatically reduce its speed and agility. It is not recommended to upgrade armor beyond +9. The defensive boost gained typically isn't worth the weight and power expenses of the upgrades.

Weapons

Weapon upgrades allow players the ability to improve certain aspects of their weapon. For example an upgrade could enhance the damage caused by the shells of a shotgun or the accuracy of a rifle sniper. Certain weapons also come with upgrades that improve their innate characteristics. They include Frictionless Materials (improves stability and minimizes overheating of the weapon) and Kinetic Coils (increases the velocity of projectiles for greater damage).

Most weapon upgrades require one of three Power Dices, a different amount of Minerals and Erons and a whetblade. These are obtained through either completing Side Quests, taking out a certain number of monsters or bosses or by contacting the Weapon Upgrade NPC located in Central Flarine.

To upgrade a weapon, equipment set piece, or Whetblade You must go to the NPC [ArmorBoboko. Boboko located in Central Flarine, and pay her an upgrade fee that is a certain amount of Bars. The more bars required to complete an upgrade, the more expensive the upgrade. If you have multiple upgrade materials, the cost of upgrading will be lower.

In Chapter 2: Season 5, the ways to upgrade your weapon and equipment sets has changed a bit. You can still do this but the process is high on RNG and low on agency. Instead, you're better off going to stores and purchasing equipment with low upgrade levels, but excellent base scores and stat distributions. These will be able to give you the best tier of perks and blessings.

The majority of players will make the most of upgrades to weapons they are most likely to use to help them level up quicker. Jewels

The quality of a gem can be improved upon by the Jeweler, in stages that vary from Crude to Royal. Based on the level of the gem it will give different stat boosts when inserted into weapons, equipment and jewelry.

The Jeweler can create the highest levels of gems apart from the rare and legendary ones which require an appropriate level to obtain. Jewels can be replaced with another one without damaging the original. However, you can only replace a jewel in an item of equipment only once.

It is common to use more gems to enhance the appearance of. Jewels also enhance performance and create a surface harder than steel so that repeated friction from pivots does not cause damage to them.

In addition to the upgrades mentioned above additionally, players can get glyphs for their shields and weapons from a Glyphmaster. These provide a small bonus and are able to be swapped easily, but are not guaranteed to drop as loot. Glyphs can be upgraded like jewelry, at the Jeweler for gold and a scattered Crystal. The first trinkets a player is able to unlock is the cloak, which grants an unimportant but beneficial boost to movement speed and the ability to escape. After that, they can acquire rings, amulets, and necklaces in the same fashion to how the player acquires weapons and armor. Each piece of equipment comes with one upgrade item slot that accepts either a universal upgrade or a jewel upgrade. Universal upgrades are smaller and can be used on any piece of equipment. Jewels cannot be upgraded or replaced, and can only be used with certain trinkets.

These trinkets can provide additional bonuses and abilities that are active when the hero isn't in combat. This allows a hero to be more efficient while inactive. It also helps compensate for the lack of a good team or talent tree slots which would normally be filled by the hero's Best item upgrader stats.

In general trinket upgrades should be prioritized over BiS (Best in Slot) items that you will not replace soon. Next, any items that have desirable statistics aren't as significant as the iLevel of the item to be upgraded. This is especially true when you are looking to upgrade multiple statistics on an item. It is best to upgrade just one crucial stat instead of two subpar ones.

Jungle players usually upgrade their yellow trinkets to a red trinket at the start of the game. Top and mid players, on the other hand, will choose a pink or green ward, depending on the game's matchup. These choices will have an impact on a hero's ability to control the map.
