The best robot hoover can mop and vacuum without needing your attention. It leaves your floors spotless. Its affordable price and high-end features (such as a dirt detector) are both positives.

1. Roomba Q5 pro

The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive counterpart, the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic cleaner and mop vacuums we have examined. They are equipped with top-of-the-line motors which can pull up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. Similar to other iRobots that are premium (including the top model) they utilize smart mapping to produce precise floorplans and avoid household obstacles such as cords and furniture legs. They also come with carpet boost that boosts the robot vacuums best's performance when it detects the presence of dirt on the carpet in order to get it cleaned quickly.

Both the Q5 and the Q7 Max Series get very good scores in our tests on floors that are bare, and they're particularly adept at cleaning pet hair. However, they do have several flaws that prevent them from being our top choice. For one, the Q5's navigation system does not have AI-powered obstacle avoidance and is therefore prone to become entangled in socks and shoes and couldn't navigate tightly packed rooms very well in our tests. It doesn't also have a camera to see around corners.

It's still a good value, especially if your home or office has lots of unfinished floors and robot hoover you want to save some money. It's also extremely quiet and works while you're at work or school. The only thing it's missing that you can't find in the pricier iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on bare floors. And it's less effective at mopping, relying on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick on well and aren't able to deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 does come with a self-emptying dock, though. If you're required to clean the mopping pad, it can be changed for a wet one in minutes.

2. iRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact elegant vacuum cleaner that also has the ability to sweep floors. Its agile navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it quick to clean and effective at dealing with larger particles such as pet hair. It also comes with a self-emptying dustbin as well as powerful suction, and support for virtual boundaries. It's the most efficient robot hoover for carpets, though it isn't as efficient as some of its competitors in deep cleaning.

This high-performance vacuum and mop uses sensors that help it stay clear of obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the patterns of your home over time and ensure cleaner and more efficient cleaning. You can modify its cleaning schedule and customize zones using the app that is well-designed. Its battery life is average compared to similar models.

When the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted area, you can tell it to remove and extend its mops. This helps prevent cross-contamination. Its flex arm is great to get under furniture with low levels and along baseboards. It's not as effective on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

In tests, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop that could complete the entire house with the battery at 66 percent left. It did a great cleaning robot mop and vacuum job on different rooms and floors with various kinds of flooring, including certain area rug. Its obstacle detection was top-of-the-line and it swiftly eluded fake dog socks, turds and cables.

It's a little more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but it has superior suction and an onboard bin that is automatically empty into the base. It also supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can clean the floor even after it has vacuumed. This is something we haven't seen on other robotic vacuum/mop combos.

3. Roomba X40 from iRobot

The robot automatic vacuum cleaner and mop and mop combination has a sleek, circular look that looks more like the regular Roomba model than the bulky models from the competitors. It is one of our most attractive looking robot vacuums. iRobot’s latest flagship model is also its smartest. It features advanced features, like enhanced dirt detection and future compatibility (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads on its own).

It's also the only robot vacuum/mop that scored a perfect 10 out of 10 in our testing. This is thanks to a mix of high-tech sensors, including a structured light system, a camera, and a variety of lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could fill and empty its basestation in a self-contained manner. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop mops.

The X40, like other iRobot products, is simple to use. It has an easy mobile application interface, and it integrates with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only downside is that the X40 is still a noisy unit. This can be a problem in mornings prior to work or at night when you're trying to sleep.

It's also quite expensive, but it's not as pricey as the Ecovacs Omni or the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra, both of which are equally powerful and better-looking. This is a dual-purpose vacuum that's very capable however, it's going to cost you more and make more noise.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the best robot vacuum and mop. It comes with a variety of advanced features that make you forget about your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaner, similar to Ecovacs top-of-the-line X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It features a multi-functional dock that can automatically empty the vacuum's bin and fills up the water tank, as well as washes and drys mop pads.

The smart robot makes use of LIDAR and structured lighting to draw out floorplans and identify obstacles. It is more efficient in its navigation than its top competitors. It also has a camera mounted on the front for real-time hazard detection, although this wasn't quite reliable in our tests and was sometimes confused by power cords or other obstructions.

Its vacuum cleaner has the capacity to suction up to 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to do the job. It also has "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates how hard the vacuum works and also adjusts the frequency of cleaning for different areas of the home depending on the amount of dirt they tend to be.

For larger homes it's worth looking for a model that has zone or spot cleaning modes that allow you to tell the robot to clean one specific area of your home using the app or voice controls. If you have lots of furniture, a stairway mode is also useful. Also, a recharge and resume feature that allows your robot vacuum cleaners reviews vacuum to pick up right where it left off is great for busy families.

iRobot RX3

The RX3 is more intelligent than the price suggests. It vacuums well and picked up 55% debris in our tests. (It was second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops using only one pad and a rotating motion which is cleaner than the majority of the mop cleaners with robots that we've tested. It's also extremely self-sufficient, with a fully-featured application, and a self emptying, washable base.

The iRobot app is designed to guide you through the mapping process that collects data on your floorplan and any "no go" areas you've marked on the map. It can be used to design cleaning schedules or create the spot-cleaning. You can also use it to rank your most filthy areas for greater efficiency. The app comes with a variety of features, such as seasonal suggestions, customized mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.

Its shape is more rectangular than most other robot vacuums, which means it can reach corners and under furniture more easily. It features a powerful 8,000 Pascal suction and intelligent combs to remove pet hair. You can also set up a spot-clean which will thoroughly clean a specific area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD offers a sleeker, cheaper alternative to iRobot Roomba. It has a more attractive, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras appear like cute eyes. It is great at vacuuming, but it is more likely to get caught in low thresholds. It is also louder than other top robot vacuums that we have test. It also has an app that's less intuitive and a small base station that can't double as a bin to empty.
