World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Upgrades to an item are a way to increase the stats of an item. Based on the type of upgrade, it can boost an item's Rarity or Mark Level and boost additional stats.

Each item comes with a track for upgrading it. Each upgrade increases the cost of the following one by a specific amount.

Item Level

The value of an item's base stats increases when it is upgraded. This is the sum of all its upgraded advantages (attack magic attack, attack defense). Upgrades can be expensive, depending on the person you hire and what you do. This is due to the variety of perks that need to be changed in order to upgrade an item.

It is also used as a gating requirement when waiting for dungeons, raids and scenarios. It also serves to limit how much PvP gear players can wear as PvP is restricted at lower levels. Players can view their average item level in their character sheet.

The level of an item upgrader will allow players to compare the strength of equipment when deciding to purchase or sell. It's an excellent indicator of an item upgrader mod's quality and how much damage it will be capable of dealing with. The level of the item can be used to evaluate items when evaluating the inventory of a vendor.

On PC, you can view the item level by pressing ALT or by using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. This will display the full description of the item, including its level. It can also be found by hovering over an item using the mouse cursor and entering /itemlevel into chat.

There are several theories about how the calculation of the item's level is carried out. One theory states that the item level is determined by an equation that determines the value of the stats of an item really are. It considers that different benefits are valued differently and that gems found in sockets increase the item's value. This can lead to an item's ilvl which is calculated and is typically very close to Blizzard's real level of the item.

However, this isn't the only factor that determines the ilvl of an item, since the size of the area the item was dropped in could alter the value of its stats, for example by adding an additional level to its haste rating or crit rating. This means that items dropped at higher levels will have more value than items dropped in lower-level instances.

Item Stats

Item stats can be the difference between a good or bad item for players. The game uses a lot of them in various ways to encourage players to play with multiple weapons, and to prevent one weapon from being "the Best item upgrader." The base stats on a weapon are increased by the weapon's stat mods, which are themselves enhanced by the player's level.

Upgrades to the item level upgrade add by increasing certain stats on the item. The upgrade costs are determined by the rarity of the item. For example, a grey or white item will only be upgraded once, whereas items with rare levels will be upgraded multiple times at higher prices.

Affixes are another way to alter the stats of an item. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player and come in a variety of sizes and shapes. Affixes can be used to give the item extra damage, add a special capability to the item (such as reviving dead or reducing the duration of cooldowns) or make the item unique by adding an additional name to the item.

Presently, all affixes are able to be changed by selecting them from the upgrade window and pressing the green button using the arrows that circle. This process will cost the player a specific amount of gold as well as items that can be used to add to the upgrade gauge in the same way as other rerolling options.

In addition to the possibility of rerolling affixes, players may select which stats they want to keep on an item when it is upgraded. The range of stats determined by the item's level. However each item will contain at least one stat in the same range, unless it's an item that is unique or a God Roll from a raid boss.

This is another aspect that could be altered by adding the option to upgrade the equipment without rerolling the affixes or choosing which stats to boost. Similar to base equipment, it must be done per item and the interface for item comparison wouldn't display all possible stats at once.

Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player can increase the likelihood of locating items and the properties that are spawned by loot and the intensity of these properties. It does not, however directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It gives players the chance to upgrade gear earlier in the game. This is especially useful in early game runs because players tend to put weapon scaling and defenses above raw damage gains.

Luck can also boost the likelihood of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This is not to be confused with the Blacksmith’s overall upgrade chances that increase with each item level. These can also be increased by using anti-materials such as the Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.

Weapons, shields, and armor can be made or spawn with the Luck property, with a default value of 40. These items can then be upgraded with golden ingots, spined leather or oak boards (depending on the material of the item) to give +40 Luck, or to increase the existing Luck of an item up to 140.

Additionally there are certain items, like the Hollow weapon that is infused with hollow can be used to increase the damage of any damage-dealing skill by 5%. These items are available from the shop or constructed using the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Item upgrades are a costly process and not all upgrades will succeed. Cash shop items can be used to increase the chances of success for an upgrade or to prevent players from losing their item if it does not work.

When you upgrade an item the rate of success is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the likelihood of successfully upgrading the item. This can be increased with Additional Materials or Special Materials. The percentage of success can only be increased by so much, and the chance that the upgrade will fail cannot be greater than 100%..

The performance of an upgrades is also influenced by the luck of the item. All items have an average success rate of 25 percent and each item with Luck increases the chance of success by 5percent.

The upgrade overlays for items are displayed above items in the inventory. This may obscure enchantment effects and other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
