What is an Item Upgrader in Pokemon Go?

The item upgrader is an additional widget to the top of both the Angel and Cash Upgrade Windows. The Manager is priced at 33 billion Angel Investors, and has no gameplay benefit other than making it easier to purchase upgrades.

Boosts

There are a myriad of enhancements that can be obtained with an upgrader. They can include a range of stats, as well as many additional bonuses. Some of these boosts can only be used in certain builds (such the Whistan's Shield, which is for FB Sorcs) Some are valuable to collectors.

Some items have an inherent boo that is less effective when upgraded, for example the Goldwrap that gives you additional slots for potion. These are often upgraded to add value to a close-to-perfect or perfect item.

Costs

Success Rate

The upgrade of an item is dependent on chance. Like any random system there is a chance that it won't work. There are a number of ways to increase the chances of success. This includes the use of an Upgrade Pity or the addition additional components to your upgrade.

An Upgrade Pity is a product that you can purchase from the smithing NPC in Lost Ark. It increases the chance of a successful upgrade by some percentage. It is similar to the luck bonus some items come with, but is more reliable. This can be added to any weapons or armor and is used three times.

You can also add additional components to the upgrade to increase the chances of success. These are shown in a window that is above the + button. There are a few limitations. The maximum amount of material you can add is displayed directly above the + button.

A Blacksmith Blessing, or an upgraded version of it, can be used to increase the chances of an upgrade being successful.
