World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Item upgrades are a key aspect of preparing your character. Upgrades boost the base damage and the enchantments of items.

They also provide bonus effects and improvements. The Blacksmith is able to sell them to you.

The upgrade button can be found on any item upgrader. Each item recycled adds a level to the gauge for upgrading.

Weapons

When a weapon is upgraded, it is granted an initial damage bonus as well as a scaling factor that influences other stats. The weapon can also gain a variety of upgrade components that provide additional attributes or effects and some even have distinct cosmetic effects. These upgrades can be slotted into armor, weapons, trinkets, and gathering tools, and most require that the equipment have an available upgrade slot and meet certain specifications. In addition to the normal upgrades, a weapon can be upgraded using an attribute called Calibration that increases certain stats, such as Weakspot Damage or Crit Rate. This can be done through the Gear Workbench's interaction menu. This can be done four times, based on weapon's level.

When the weapon is at maximum upgrade, it can be reforged using a variety of different types of upgrades to increase specific stats or to add bonuses and effects. These upgrades can all be applied at once and the effects depend on how rare the weapon is.

There are two Blacksmiths in the game that can perform these upgrades: Blacksmith Hewg in the Church of Elleh hub area, and Smithing Master Iji on the Road to the Manor Site of Grace. Both require different upgrade materials: Smithing Stones for standard weapons, and Somber Smithing Stones for modifying the type of damage that a weapon inflicts.

In general, it's best to increase the damage of your weapon first. Then you can increase your armour defense and, finally those secondary stats required by your build. In particular, it's common to see melee druids upgrading their weapon prior to any other gear, because it will increase DPS. This is particularly relevant for enchantments that enhance a weapon's stats and damage.

Armor

Item upgrades allow players to increase the stats base of certain pieces of armor weapons, trinkets, trinkets and gathering tools. After completing the Mastery Cave after completing the Mastery Cave, you can find Trinkets by taking on Monsters and inside chests and crates within Skull Cavern. They aren't found in the Mines or Volcano Dungeon.

When you have a trinket that needs to be upgraded then place it in the Anvil to do so. This will have an unpredictable effect on the trinket either extending its lifespan or strengthening its effects. You can reorge a Trinket as many times as you want, though it will always have a different effect than the one you had when you made it.

You can upgrade your Trinkets at the Alchemy Station by placing them into a Magical Catalyst. This will cost you 6 energy, but will increase the trinkets power by a tiny amount.
