WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boost to certain stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by 3. A random substat is also boosted alongside every upgrade.

The upgraded gear typically has a greater value for trade as long as it meets low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or has a high stat variation (like eth titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the necessity to roll for a perfect version.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase tools, armor, weapon and accessory upgrades. They can be bought by players through NPCs that sell upgrades to items in exchange for various currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists.
