Item upgrade, commonly referred to as "upping," improves an item's stats. Each upgrade increment increases the stats linearly.

Players can recycle six items at one time to gain a gauge for the upgraded component of each item. The cost of recycling items scales depending on their rarity and level.

Upgrade components

A level upgrade in Guild Wars 2 is a process that can increase the effectiveness of your weapons and armor. This can be accomplished through a variety of methods, including by using upgrade components or by increasing an item's rarity or mark level. In addition to this, many items can be reforged, which can increase their stats.

You can purchase upgradeable items throughout the game. They are available all over all over the world, as well as rewards for missions. They can also be created by players. Glyphs

Each glyph has a range of values that it can improve a stat by, as shown on the item when you open the glyph in the Glyph Storage or when you use them to enchant an Artifact. This is not the exact amount at which glyphs can improve a stat, but the maximum amount by which it can increase a stat. The actual value of the glyph is determined by the tier and quality of the item you are creating it for.

The majority of upgrade components inserted into items can't be removed or replaced without removing them, with the exception of legendary upgrades and equipment. If you do have a non-useful rune or glyph that hasn't yet been added to your equipment, you can transfer it to a different piece of equipment by using the Upgrade Glyphs context menu within the Glyphs panel. This will create a new Glyph Set with the selected glyph.

You can remove a glyph by using the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or an Ascended Salvage tool. This will cause the item to be destroyed that it was installed in but you will be able to salvage the upgraded item by using the glyph and its fragments, therefore it should not be considered as a loss.

When you remove an item after putting a glyph on it, the shards of that glyph will disappear. You can also put an inscription to your equipment to make it more valuable. Deferred Damage, for example, can store damage and then be dealt slowly to the wearer instead of all at one time. This is helpful for those who take many hits from enemies, but do not want to be overwhelmed.

Reroll tokens

Reroll tokens can be used to change the affixes on equipment and weapons. They can be obtained from various sources, including mystery boxes and rare drops from skulled monsters, or by killing bosses. Reroll tokens give players a new random affix, which is usually superior to the original. Reroll tokens are also a good way to reroll weapon stats, which can be upgraded to provide better damage or perks.

Rerolled items don't appear in the menu of item upgrades, but they are still able to be upgraded. Rerolled items can be recycled by pressing the "upgrade" button that alters the layout of the item upgrader kit window and allows up to six items to be chosen to recycle. This lowering effect is most effective for Diadems and ring items that do not have any other options for raising ilvls.

The Reroll system has been criticized by players for being too expensive and it's more reasonable to let players pay for it in the form of money or food items that would allow players to alter their builds without a lot of time and effort. However paying for rerolls is not something the developers are planning to incorporate at this point in the game's development. Instead, they're planning to add a race change potion in the future.

Leveling

There are many ways to upgrade an item. The first is to increase the upgrade amount, which increases the value of an upgrade for any stat.
