The GE PGE29BYTFS Smart Refrigerator has all the features you'd expect from a refrigerator in this price range. It has Wi-Fi, app support and GE's SmartHQ Software. The app, available for iOS and Android devices can let you control your fridge from anywhere in the world, and has a ton of customization options. It will also send notifications when the door is left unlocked as well as when the freezer or fridge needs to be defrosted, and when the filter requires a change.

It would be nice it GE PYE22PYNFS could offer Precise Fill, an option available in a handful of GE refrigerators that allow users to choose the number of cups they would like to disperse. The fridge shows a countdown to reveal how much water remains however it's not as helpful as Precise Fill.

The fridge was rated the best refrigerator in our Refrigerators test, for a few reasons. Its freezer temperatures held firm at just above 0 degrees Fahrenheit and never moving more than a fraction an inch. This is essential in preventing freezing burn. The fridge section of the fridge also performed well, achieving the desired initial set temperature within a matter of hours and keeping that temperature steady throughout the course of our testing.

Its capacity is above average for a counter-depth model and it cools well and has a nice layout. It's also a little cheaper than the best counter-depth refrigerators that have an ice maker, which helps make it a popular choice.

Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

It's a basic design that's not as striking in appearance as other models however it comes with enough features to make it a solid pick. Its most notable feature is the temperature adjustable drawer, helps to keep food items like vegetables and meat fresher longer. It also comes with a huge water dispenser as well as a good ice machine that works fast.

Another feature that is worth mentioning is the "Chill Drawer" that sits above the two crisper bins.
