It's very efficient and does a great job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums carpeted rooms quickly and hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room, and hallways with just one pass. Its suction motor of 8,000pa makes short work of picking up sand, dirt and pet hair. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it detects rugs and the dual side brush helps to remove debris from corners.

It also houses a 2.5-liter dust bin as well as an 2.5 dust bin that is 2.5 liters.

The base also has a number of buttons to control the system. These let you manually start a cleaning task, recall the robot, or start the dock's auto-emptying process. Press two of the buttons to switch on a child lock which is a great touch for parents worried about their children playing with the vacuum.

While it was not common but it was a very frustrating experience when it happened and especially because the X1 Omni does not come with a "stuck" status alert on its app.

Another possible issue is the X1 Omni's inability to automatically switch between vacuuming and mopping modes during the cleaning process. You will have to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't that bad however, mopping pads don't get cleaned or dried between uses. This could lead to mildew and mold.

On the positive side the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot vacuum that vacuums and mops thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who came up with its sleek, modern-looking base and mopping pad. It's a big departure from the utilitarian all-black bases of rivals like Roborock or iRobot. It's also an impressive sight in a market dominated by clunky boxy models.
